A few years ago, our family was blessed by marrying into the Dawson family. My niece, Erika, married Josh Dawson. The Dawsons have been missionaries in Venezuela for a few generations, ministering to the Yanomamo Indians, one of the most primitive tribes in the Amazon rainforest. Recently a movie came out describing the founding of a church among the Yanomamo, it is called The Enemy God. We recently had a premier showing at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church. http://www.theenemygod.com/ It is a very unusual film about a people’s liberation from a dark spirit world.
Erika and Josh are living in Antioch, Illinois, an exurb of Chicago. Last year they bought a house and had their first baby. They were—“settling in” to the life of young marrieds. But just recently they have decided to explore serving the Lord in Venezuela.
I commend Erika’s blog telling about her step of faith. I had the privilege recently of preaching at their church about risk. Some of the words had an impact. To read the blog about their recent decision go to: http://joshanderika.wordpress.com/
