Relevant magazine and media group reach about 800,000 young adults monthly. It is a Christian magazine for this targeted age group, which explores the intersection of faith and pop culture.
In this RTS President’s Forum, Relevant magazine editor/founder Cameron Strang talks to me about what is going on with this age group and why many of them have left the church and declared themselves “nones.” He describes some of the issues and interests that preoccupy his readers from loneliness to art, and what has changed with this age group in the ten years since it started publishing.
I asked Strang about the tensions between being relevant and faithful. And Strang explains some of the hopeful signs he observes in this age group and what to keep in mind in attempting to reach them with the gospel. He also talks about the church and its use of social media in reaching out to them.
